What are Lip Fillers?
Lip Filler injections contain hyaluronic acid – a substance that naturally exists in the body. At L Beauty Studio, we use premium Lip Fillers, including Juvederm® by Allergan and Restylane® by Galderma, both world leaders in aesthetic products. These Lip Fillers are non-permanent and contain lidocaine, a local anaesthetic to reduce discomfort associated with injections, allowing our patients a more pleasant treatment experience.
How do Lip Fillers work?
By enhancing the lips’ supply of hyaluronic acid, Lip Fillers add volume, shape and definition to the lips, creating a fuller, more youthful appearance whilst maintaining a natural look. Lip Fillers are a soft injectable gel consisting of stabilised, non-animal hyaluronic acid. The gel is tissue-friendly and closely resembles the hyaluronic acid that exists naturally in the body. It is long-lasting but not permanent.

What Should I Expect?
Before Treatment
During the initial consultation at L Beauty, we will listen to your treatment expectations and discuss what you wish to achieve. Following an assessment of your treatment needs, we will recommend which Lip Filler treatment is most suitable for you. No two cases are the same, and you will receive a personal treatment plan based upon your concerns and objectives, lip anatomy and medical history.
After a treatment plan has been agreed, and only once you are happy to proceed, you will be asked to read, understand and sign a consent form before the treatment can begin.
During Treatment
Lip Filler is injected into the lips in small amounts using a very fine needle or cannula. The gel provides natural volume to enhance lip fullness, define the lip border, improve symmetry, or smooth vertical lip lines depending on your treatment goals. Lip Filler products improve the texture and hydration of the lips, creating a soft, supple appearance. The treatment is quick, typically taking about 30-45 minutes. Treatment with Lip Fillers does not affect facial expression and the benefits can normally be seen immediately.
After Treatment
After a treatment some reactions are relatively common, these include slight redness, swelling, itching, bruising and tenderness. The reactions are generally mild to moderate and usually disappear shortly after injection. They typically resolve spontaneously within one or two days, but swelling may last slightly longer with lip treatments. In the majority of cases, our patients are able to return to work or their usual daily activities immediately.

Lip Fillers should not be used in or near areas where there is active skin inflammation, infection, or cold sores. Pregnant or breast-feeding women should not use Lip Fillers. Individuals with medical conditions that lower the body’s immune response or individuals undergoing therapy that is immunosuppressive may be more prone to infection by a skin injection procedure.

Does Lip Filler Treatment need pain relief?
Lip Fillers used at L Beauty contain lidocaine, a local anaesthetic providing a more comfortable experience and as such extra pain relief is not necessary. Some people may experience the treatment as a mild discomfort but it is a well-tolerated procedure. A local anaesthetic cream can also be applied to the area for additional numbing effect.
Will Lip Fillers drastically change my face?
We approach every case as an individual work of art. We will assess the dynamics of your lips and facial proportions so as to make sure your features retain harmony and balance, and remain true to your own look. How long will Lip Fillers Last?
The effects of non-permanent lip fillers will usually last between 6-12 months. This does depend on how your body reacts to and breaks down the dermal filler, your metabolism, the volume of product used as well as certain lifestyle factors.
